ForestrySA is responsible for the management of approximately 70,000 hectares of State owned plantation in the Green Triangle and 14,000 hectares in the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North Regions of the State.
Our annual planting program is maintained at about 2,500 hectares per annum of which over 2,000 hectares are in the Green Triangle. Opportunities for forest expansion are being realised through a program of land purchase with the objective of acquiring up to 1,500 hectares of cleared land each year.
A large number of building products are manufactured by ForestrySA softwood customers including structural timber, engineered wood products and wood panelling.
Our plantations are also used to manufacture tissue products and paper towels at Millicent in the Green Triangle.
