• Forest Forum established.
• Reached agreement with CFS, SA Water and DEH for new tactical fire fighting airstrip at Mount Crawford.
• Sponsorship program established with $26 000 contributed towards regional community events and
$1 100 donated to charities through staff involvement.
• Establishment of Mount Lofty Ranges Private Forestry.
• 206 000 people visited Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North Forest Reserves, 14 121 permits issued and 41 200 visitors participated in organised events.
• Purpose-built horse camping area at Mount Crawford Forest opened.
• Revision of contract with ITIM Australia to provide an improved Employee Assistance Program that better meets ForestrySA’s needs.
• Mr Dennis Page (Operations Manager, Green Triangle) was awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal in the 2004 Australia Day Honours in recognition of his distinguished service and in establishing close liaison with the forest industry and the Country Fire Service.

ENVIRONMENTAL
• Commencement of replacement program for the RFW Fire Truck fleet with the FireKing vehicle from
ADI Limited.
• Developed water conservation policy for depots and fire training.
• Implementation of a 25-year Biodiversity Corridor Strategy in the Green Triangle Region, involving the setting aside of plantation areas to enable the dispersal of species from one area of key habitat to another.
• Eight management plans developed for grassy woodland areas within Forest Reserves, in association with the Nature Conservation Society.

ECONOMIC
• Trading profit was A$41.3 million before forest revaluation and tax. This is an increase of A$3.5 million (9.1%) from 2002-2003.
• Total payments made to the Government during the year were A$33.1 million consisting of dividend (A$21.8 million) and tax equivalent payment (A$11.3 million).
• 1.8 million cubic metres of log products were harvested from ForestrySA plantations.
• 2470.1 hectares of radiata pine was planted on ForestrySA land. First rotation planting amounted to 389.1 hectares.
• Quality system certification to the International Quality Standard ISO 9001:2000.
• Acquisition of 55.6 hectares of land.
