THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FORESTRY CORPORATION
SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS AND INITIATIVES 2001/2002
• Trading profit was A$35.5 million before forest revaluation and tax.
  This is an increase of 8.8 percent from 2000/2001.
• Total payments made to the Government during the year were A$42.7 million
  consisting of dividend and tax equivalence payment totalling A$22.7 million and a
  special dividend relating to a return of retained earnings on Corporatisation
  of A$20.0 million.
• 1.53 million cubic metres of log products were harvested from ForestrySA
  plantations.
• 2623 hectares were planted on ForestrySA land of which 2603 hectares were
  radiata pine. First rotation planting amounted to 540 hectares.
• Significant progress towards certification to the International environmental
  standard ISO 14001:1996.
• Re-certification to the International Quality Standard ISO 9002:1994.• Compulsory environmental awareness training for all employees.
• Introduction of fire fighting fitness standards for ForestrySA fire fighters.
